ShopPower-Soft offers a variety of hosting options for ShopPower. Our hosting comes setup with all the settings and permissions required to run ShopPower.
MS Access hosting is recommended for smaller sites, or new sites where there is not an existing traffic stream coming to the domain. MS Access is easy to back up and should handle the load for the majority of ecommerce stores.
MS SQL Server is a higher-spec database. Although performing essentially the same task as MS Access, it is faster and more powerful. Sites with higher traffic levels, large product catalogues, large order sizes (i.e. customers who place large orders) or that experience heavy usage during certain peak times should consider MS SQL Server. Sites running MS Access that start to become less reliable or slower as traffic or database size increases should also consider moving to MS SQL. As a general guide, we'd recommend MS SQL for sites with more than 80,000 page views per month and databases with more than 5,000 products.
Upsizing an Access site to MS SQL is a relatively simple task. Our free Data Tool can handle converting data between the supported database formats and Microsoft also provides tools for this. Because conversion is so well supported, we'd suggest starting with the cheaper MS Access option if in doubt, and then upsizing later if required.
You are not obliged to host your site with us. Most Windows hosting will run ShopPower providing it meets the system requirements. Hosting with ShopPower-Soft offers peace of mind since we have more experience than anyone of running ShopPower sites and guarantee that the hosting meets the system requirements for running ShopPower. If you purchase our hosting with a ShopPower, we will install the software and do the basic setup for you free of charge.
All our hosting is on Windows servers. For larger sites requiring higher bandwidth and MS SQL databases, please contact us for a quote.
All hosting is governed by our ShopPower-Soft Hosting AUP (Acceptable Use Policy).
